Designing buildings
for humans

An Architecture, Design, and Consulting Practice

Seems obvious that this is what architects do, right? Sadly, it’s not.

How often do you experience feelings of inclusion, connection, or comfort within the buildings you enter? How often do you feel that your space supports your wellbeing, creates a place of calm, allowing you to be productive and achieve your goals? If your answer isn’t “every single damn time,” then you understand how a space does not respond to you – you understand when a design lacks quality.

Why is this important?

Quality design is an act of empathy – for ourselves, our families, and our communities. Our surroundings shape who we are, how we function, and how we relate and connect with others.  This is why creating quality spaces is vital to our health and wellbeing.

How do we create quality design?

Or, more specifically, how do we ensure that we design buildings for humans?  By asking and answering questions – who, what, when, where, why, how – of the needs , desires, values, and goals of the people we impact with design.

Who do we work with?

We work with people who are frustrated that their surroundings do not support their goals and how they want to live their lives. We work with people who are overwhelmed by the design and construction process and do not know where to start. We work with people who want collaboration throughout the design process. We work with people who felt ignored during previous design experiences. We work with people who feel their surroundings are limiting their ability to be successful.

We also work with people who are motivated to make their communities healthier, stronger, and more connected. We work with people who appreciate quality over quantity. We work with people who have empathy for themselves and others. We work with people who are committed to creating inclusion, equity, and diversity in our cities. We work with people who are invested in making their surroundings better.

Where do we go from here?

From here, we connect. We take the time to get to know each other. We take the time to understand what motivates you, what inspires you, what frustrates you, what you want to change. We take the time to ask the right questions and seek out answers so we can design intentionally for – and with – you.

When do you want to get started?
